Troy Matteson clinched PGA Tour title in a three-man play-off at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, on Sunday, which was his second PGA Tour victory.

Matteson had swept into the 54-hole lead on the back of consecutive nine-under-par rounds of 61 and has carded the 72nd hole needing a par four to win the tournament outright. A closing 68 bogey put him into a three-way play-off with fellow Americans Fowler and Lovemark.
Fowler, the 20-year-old, was chasing Tiger Woods, who won the PGA Tour 13 years ago, to become youngest PGA Tour winner. The young American fired a hole in one at the par-three fifth hole and had vied with Matteson for the lead until he too finished with a bogey at the 18th for a six-under 64 that put him at 18 under par tie.
The 21-year-old rookie, Lovemark moved to 18-under with a final-hole birdie.
Matteson, the 29-year-old tied of that par to finish his second title of his professional career and win Frys.com Open.
The American, having bogeyed the last two holes for a closing two-under-par 68, sealed victory after hitting a spectacular six-iron approach to two feet at the second extra hole at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale.
The 29-year-old calmly knocked in a birdie putt to trump the pars recorded by compatriots Rickie Fowler and Jamie Lovemark, who also finished the 72 regulation holes on 18-under 262
."I just can't believe that it's ended up like this," said Matteson, who won $900,000. "I know I stumbled going down the stretch, but I'm still beside myself."
