Trailing by one on the final hole of regulation at the 2009 Kraft Nabisco Championship, Brittany Lincicome did everything she could to keep calm. She took deep breaths, sang country songs with her caddie – anything to keep those nerves in check.

 

It worked. Lincicome boomed her tee shot on the par-5 18th and then hit a hybrid approach from 210 yards to 4 feet, a shot you voted as the Best Clutch Shot of the Decade by a female.

 

Lincicome was playing in the final twosome with good friend Kristy McPherson, who had been battling Cristie Kerr for the lead most of the day. Lincicome, meanwhile, was hanging around. By the 72nd hole she was one back of McPherson and even with Kerr, who was in the penultimate group.

 

Kerr managed to make birdie up ahead, but it proved null as Lincicome's brilliant second shot set up eagle and a one-shot triumph over Kerr and McPherson, who parred the final hole.

 

After a 275-yard drivie down the middle of the fairway on the 485-yard finale, Lincicome used a hybrid to clear the water guarding the green. "Please be good," she said. Her ball obliged, landing on the top part of the green and curling down towards the hole. The ensuing putt gave the 23-year-old American her first major triumph.
